Dual Xeon CPU linux 2.6

Hi,

I've got a server running dual xeon 2.8ghz debian 3.1. I've compiled a custom kernel linux-2.6.17.6. However when i cat /proc/cpuinfo only 1 processor is showing up. I've tried booting the system with the debian kernel image and again it only shows up 1 CPU in /proc. Is there some option in the kernel that enables dual processors?

Stephen

You need CONFIG_SMP=y set it is under Processor type and features.

Edit: You can also use apt-cache search linux-image smp and pick a Debian kernel to install.
Edit2: It might be kernel-image smp since I notice you are running Sarge.
