driver for RADEON 9700 under XFree86 4.3

I try to install a driver for RADEON 9700.
I have installed XFree86 Version 4.3.0 running under SuSE Linux 8.2.
Because there is no ATI driver for XFree86 4.3.0 I have installed the
schneider 4.3.0 driver from
schneider-digital.de/html/download ati.html
The installation runs successfully but after starting the X-Window
system
I got the error below

(WW) fglrx: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:1:0:1)
found
(EE) fglrx(0): board is third party board

*** If unresolved symbols were reported above, they might not
*** be the reason for the server aborting.

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 7. Server aborting

Is the driver really properly installed? Mine is located in

/lib/modules/2.4.21-0.24mdk/kernel/drivers/char/drm/fglrx.o

Also, did you run the fglrxconfig after installing the driver? Your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 should contain a Section "Device" looking something like

Code:
Section "Device"
    Identifier "ATI Graphics Adapter"
    Driver "fglrx"

   <lots of options>
EndSection
and also a Section "Screen" that uses the defined device - looking something like

Code:
Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Screen0"
    Device "ATI Graphics Adapter"
    Monitor "Monitor0"

<other stuff, such as DefaultDepth, SubSection "Display"...>
EndSection
and then in the ServerLayout, the Screen is setup with (in this case)

Code:
Screen "Screen0"

/Stefan

Yes I run the fglrxconfig after installing the driver and the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file looks good.
All of you wrote exists.

Hello again!

Sorry for my lingering with a reply, but I haven't really had anything more to say than "I haven't a clue" =] I just found a thread that might give you some hints, here:

Good luck!
