displayport issues

I've been running Pop_OS! for a few years now with the built in Nvidia drivers to support my GTX1070 card running 2x 32in 2k monitors. One connected via HDMI the other via DisplayPort.

I had to make an emergency relocation last week so powered off the workstation for the move in the standard shutdown -h now.

The SSD chose to not work in the new location (it would ask for the encryption p/w, but than hang) so as I was short on time I formatted and reinstalled the OS. First with the most current vs of Pop, than with the older, now out dated vs, as the newer one has several major issues for support on work tools.

#1. the Citrix workspace tool would not install as it was missing a library no longer supported in the current vs of PoP.

#2. Keybase does not work for similar reasons.

Neither the current or older vs of PoP liveUSB was able to detect my 2nd monitor via DisplayPort. The monitor works, the port is good, the cable is good, but the OS is not seeing it, neither does the Nvidia software.

Driver: 470.86
Code:
$ uname -a
Linux pop-os 5.16.19-76051619-generic #202204081339~1649696161~21.10~091f44b SMP PREEMPT Mon Apr 11 17 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
my google foo has 100% failed me. keep coming up with laptop issues or win10 issues for the newest vs of DisplayPort. None do me any good.

So please help me help you, help me. What further information do you require and I will provide as well as attempt solutions.

Thank you.

My pathetic google foo kept bringing up disable fast boot in the BIOS, after checking, that is not an option so that is at least one potential issue scratched off the list. anyone out there with any information to help or start addressing this issue would be great.

Having re installed the O/S, have you actually set up your second monitor?

Re check your cables/connections - make sure any necessary drivers are being loaded.

thank you for the reply fatmac, did you read my posts? ive commented on how the 2nd monitor functions as stand alone as well as the drivers that are built into the OS along with their code snippets.
