Display is disabled when TV-Out is connected
hi,
I recently setup a RedHat 9 linux box with an ATI Rage 128 Graphics card. It has been working great, so I decided to try and configure TV-Out to display a clone of the monitor display on the TV. I downloaded and installed the program: atitvout v0.4 and it seemed to work marginally. The only problem was that when I started up the computer if the TV-Out connection is connected into the graphics card then it will get to the part to start the XWindows System, and the monitor will just go into standby and nothing will happen. Then if I press Ctrl+Alt+F2 the screen will flicker a bit then will go to a typical text login. I can then log in as root and type in the password and then I can run atitvout. With atitvout I can detect the displays connected it will then find the TV and the TV will display a clone of the monitor. Ok, so this is my problem, I want the TV-Out to work, even if I need to run atitvout every time I start up, but right now I cannot even start the computer with the TV-Out connection connected. I hope all of this makes good sense and if you need any more information feel free to ask. Thanks in advance.
