Desktop at login...

In SUN system ,the files that I open at logoff are shown each time I login back to the system.

Is it possible to have the same in Linux also. I don't wish to open all my files each time I login, instead I wish that those which I left open at logoff, should reappear when I relogin.

Thanks in Advance,

You want to look at a Desktop Environment with a "Session Manager". I belive GNOME and KDE have one.

And XFCE has one in CVS, it works ok.

Since I see that you use RedHat 8.0, just open them up when you logout of KDE or GNOME. It will automatically open up when you login again.

And ashesh, I am also from India...
