Hi,
I'm trying to install a second server with Debian (my favorite distro) but the bootfloppies (rescue floppies in Debian-tech-talk
) don't seem to work. When the kernel boots (the bf24 Woody kernel (2.4-18)) the kernel panics with a bad EIP value (??).
I suspect it is caused by my new Promiss IDE controller (without it, and with a small hdd connected to the motherboard's ide controller it boots fine). If it is the lack of support of this new ide controller by Debian's bootfloppies, then I want to create bootfloppies that support the latest hardware. Anyone any suggestions where to find the latest and greatest bootfloppies ?
it does not matter which distro
