Creating a Custom Linux installation CD

Hi all

i want to create a custom linux installation cd with the packages that i use frequently ... traditional distros come with many packages that i dont use....so i thought of creating my own linux installation cd with selected packages... i want to create a debian based OS...

i am doing LFS 6.3 now....but how to make installable version of the packages that i have installed in LFS...?

by searching in google i have got links for making custom live cd,modifying the bootable iso....etc

i like to know if this is feasible or not...i need an OS with multimedia support/eclipe,netbeans,java,DC client ....etc packages which are suitable to the context of our college.....

Please help me to create custom linux installation cd...

THANKS IN ADVANCE

this link says that we can make linux live cd/usb ....and somewhere its written
If you combine that with persistent changes, your Live distro will behave like INSTALLED, all changes are transparently stored to the boot media (even to USB)

but how to make these changes is not mentioned...
Can you please elaborate it ...
