Converting a pdf to epub?

Hello, I would like to convert a PDF document, that I received, to read it on my Kindle. Would someone know how to convert pdf to epub? I noticed that Google docs can do so. Best regards, Pat.

#1 Kindle can read most PDF files directly. Mine is an old original KINDLE FIRE and handles them just fine.

#2 There are online converters available such as this one http://www.zamzar.com/convert/pdf-to-epub/ to do that job for you.

#3 A 10 second search using duckduckgo or google will bring up PAGES of solutions.

I would suggest you to check Calibre: https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq.html

While most readers can process PDF files directly, PDF is fundamentally a display-formatting language whereas epubs are basically HTML.

Generally the best way I've found to generate an epub is either to use Calibre to convert a word-processor document, or simply to use a word-processor (or plugin for the same) which is capable of generating epubs directly.

The formatting will not be the same as that of the PDF, however, when targeting "a generic book reader," you should not care. The "fundamental rules of the game" for this medium are not the same as the games for paper.
