Convert avi to svcd

Hi,

Could someone outline, or point me in the direction of, information on how to convert avi to svcd and then burn to cd.

some helpful programs will be
avidemux
kavi2svcd
qvcd
these are all graphical tools which use stuff such as:
mplex
transcode
cdrdao
lame
and there may be some that i am forgetting...so in order to use these things you will need whats listed above....not to worry anyways, cause once you try and install them apps, they will exit in error if none of them exist, and you'll just have to download them and install them to continue with the installation of them programs ...

DrOzz,

Downloaded the frontend programme kavi2svcd and the associated backends such as transcode, mjpegtools, vcdimager and cdrdao plus the all the dependant packages.

Had a problem with stage one; ie transcoding. Got a fault saying that a transcode library file was missing ¨ëxport_mp2enc.so¨.

I am using Mandrake 9.2. Might install Redhat 9 and give that a go.
