I am looking for some quick and easy instructions on setting up sendmail. I currently am using Merak Mail Server which is Windows based and and incorporates the mail server and IM server in one program, it has a gui so its easy to setup.

I want to try sendmail. I understand the concept of how an e-mai lserver works but I have a book that talks about the different files in sendmail but doesn't tell you where you insert anything. OH! I followed the example to test it though and that worked. I sent an e-mail using the comand line and received it at another computer.

I am trying to use Fedora Core 2 for this if it helps. Oh yeah, this is important, I am trying to this on a server, not a client. I have a business broadband account so there should not be any issues with port 25 and i have a mx record setup already.

I wouldnt recommend sendmail.
Sendmail has a bad history of being a very unsecure software with some nasty performance issues and etc... Thought it has improved lately, still if you have no patricular reason to use sendmail then dont use it.
Try postfix instead, really.
