command to know the state of one core

Hello,

I'm developping a parallel code on multicore architecture.

I need to know : is there a command system that Shows the percentage of a specific core usage ?

The command HTOP shows the global state for all cores. but i need a command that shows the state of core1, of core2, etc.

Have you tried the "top" command then once "top" is running, press 1. That'll show you some CPU statistics.

forgot to mention cpuid maybe.

Hope this helps.

thank your reply.

The command mpstat shows correctly for one core :

amina@amina-laptop:~/projet/cilkplus-install/examples/princeFGparallel$ mpstat -P 3
Linux 2.6.32-36-generic (amina-laptop) 17/12/2011 _i686_ (8 CPU)

16:05:41 CPU %usr %nice %sys %iowait %irq %soft %steal %guest %idle
16:05:41 3 9,40 0,00 0,58 0,01 0,00 0,00 0,00 0,00 90,00

can i get only the %usr for example ?? is there an option ??
