Chinese characters too small after installing fonts

When I installed Linux on my laptop I decided to import the fonts in the Windows fonts folder in order to view Chinese characters...using KDE (kcontrol => system administration => fonts) I manually configured. Though it wasn't a problem in Windows, I notice that the Chinese characters are awfully tiny, as well as the general font used, almost like it's on italics without the slant. I don't know which font it is, or what to do about it, but apparently it's affecting all users as well.....

Reading Roman characters is not the issue, although they seem a bit on the thin side...however, the characters are very difficult to read. Is there anyway to choose a "better font" for Chinese, after I already installed what I think were several font sets that all contained Chinese support.

I know what it's like to read other scripts in small fonts, so hopefully my advice should be worth at least something to you.

If you can find fonts that support both Latin and your version of Chinese (simplified/traditional) in Unicode, that's your best bet.

You can change enlarge your fonts by opening GNOME or KDE preferences under Appearance or Look&Feel preferences.

By searching you could find some nice fonts as in

What distro are you using? AFAIK, openSUSE Linux has the best Chinese font rendering I have seen.
