changing text colors in tcsh shell

Hello all,
This seems a simple problem, and one that has been solved many times before, but as yet I haven't been able to find an answer in any existing threads.

My problem is this: I don't like the text colors of my shell! The ls colors are fine, and the majority of the prompt colors fine, but my user@hostname text in my prompt, and the text I enter from the keyboard are the issue. Both are in a light grey on a white background, and contrast is a problem to say the least.

I'm assuming there is a file somewhere I can edit to change this text color (to plain black, most preferably).

I'm currently using Red Hat 9, kernel 2.4.20-24.9, and use the tcsh shell, opened in a KDE Konsole.

Thanks in advance for any assistance with what is a pretty petty problem!

Justin

Hello again,

I finally sorted it! An errant "cd" command left at the bottom of my .tcshrc file. I only found this out by hashing everything out, and gradually reintroducing stuff though. Can anyone explain why the command "cd" in that file would have the effect of changing my shell text colour? I'd like to know now just out of interest.

Thanks
