cant use emacs in root any more?

I used to be able to use emacs while su'ing into root, but i no longer can
this is the error
Code:
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Invalid XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 key (failed key comparison)
emacs: Cannot connect to X server :0.0.
Check the DISPLAY environment variable or use `-d'.
Also use the `xhost' program to verify that it is set to permit
connections from your machine.
could i do xhost + to enable it for everyone, or is this a security risk?
NVM .. i think i fixed it. i did xhost +localhost under normal user, and now it works
How strange. Stranger thing is i googled for it, and the first result i found was for a SuSE discussion list, and i USE SuSE

It's just that you aren't starting it up properly.

Go to the big K and look for run programs or some such (can you tell that I'm not running linux at the moment? )

Enter in emacs, click run as different user (root), supply said password, enjoy.

Or just keep doing it the way that you discovered. Either way is fine.
