Unhappy cant play ANY audio/video files


im completely new to any linux os.i just installed yellowdog 6.1 from the disk .works ok but cant play any audio/video files,it says i need to load the plugin.cant find any plugins.tried installing realplayer as the manual suggested,went ok,but wen i finnished..no icon tried opening it from dashboard.the tag is there but nothing happens when i click it..also cant install anything from secondary disk,get an error response.
any help would be appreciated thanks.

Hi
Try to install VLC player. it works in linux version....
i have seen lot ppl r using in linux...
This link is for ubuntu

u can dowload vlc package and install it.
