Unhappy cannot browse website form Linux

i just installed DSL in my system. I can browse thru WinXp.

How do I access in Linux(I have redhat 9.0).

can u ping the IP address of an outside site? say www.google.com or mail.yahoo.com? if u can ping the IP and not the hostname, that a DNS issue.

check /etc/resolv.conf and set your IPS's DNS server ip addresses.

I am using Verizon's DSL account.
From where do I get Verizon's DNS server IP address and where do I set this value so that i can browse website when I boot my system in linux

from the DNS entries under Windows XP via ipconfig /all
