Cannot boot from hdc with Software RAID 1 on RH 9.0

I configured a software RAID 1 through RedHat 9.0 to mirror two Western Digital 120 GB IDE drives. However, when I simulated a drive failure with hda, hdc would not boot on its own. When I reconnect hdc as the primary master, it still does not boot. Any explanation on this?

fdisk shows the proper partitions, dmesg shows proper mirroring, and lsraid shows that the raid is properly configured.

I'm an AMD Duron 850 MHz on an Abit KT7A motherboard, if that helps.

Thanks.

The boot loader can be the problem. Can you try to use a bootdisk to check your partition for files?

I tried that... it boots with a floppy fine. My partitions seem to be correct. (I've pasted the output to "fdisk -l".) Could be it a problem with grub?

Its probable, try to install the grub in this partition:
#grub
grub> install (hd2,0)/boot/grub/stage1 (hd2) (hd2,0)/boot/grub/stage2 0x8000 (hd2,0)/boot/grub/menu.lst
grub> quit

Hope that helps ...
