I've built Gnome 2.11 from sources from the ground up. I'm running Control Center version 2.11.5 (although I've also tried 2.11.6). The gnome-backround-properties utility won't let me add wallpaper to the list of available wallpapers. I can set a background through some other app (e.g. firefox). Howver, when I use gnome-background-properties I click add, browse to the image I want to add, then click "OK," then the app gets stuck in an infinite loop outputting the following:I've tried reinstalling other 2.11 series versions of Gnome Control Center. 2.10 series won't compile due to differences in 2.10 and 2.11 series of gnome-menus packages. Any advice on places to start is appreicated.

I just googled this error a little.

It looks like it might be related to a font or theme.

If you're not using default fonts or themes, try default.

If you ARE using default, try something else.
I read something about fonts being owned by a different user could cause this.

I suggest the above only from what I've read, please read it as a "shot in the dark".
