Unhappy Can't get in home directory--Help

Tryed to open my home directory and it hangs up and will not open. I can get in all other files, such as cd drive, dvd, etc. I am using kde 2. When I hit the home directory icon it starts to open the window and hangs there with the window open and none of the files showing. Everything else is working fine. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

I can get at the files one by one using quick browser and launching file editor, but using the home icon to my home dir just hangs and starts blinking .
