Question Can't free up space for kmail

'df -k' indicates that /home is full

/dev/hda1 2585304 2453976 0 100% /home

I deleted files and
'cd /home; du --max-depth=0' shows that I should have space ...

1358208 .

But kmail complains that /home is still full.

Has anyone solved this problem?
