cached memory slows media player


Hi,

I noticed this several times. If quite a lot amount of memoy is cached
movies are played non-smoothly. A synchronization is lost. This is very clear when playing eg. matroska files. I want to know how to clear cache. Till now my own solution is to reboot - but of course it is not a solution.

Sounds odd - but have a look at "man proc" for drop_caches.
"1" should help ...
