good morning everybody.....we had a power cut power this morning, my UPS can only managed 10 minutes, so my fedora core4 server went down too. now electricity is back on, my linux system starts up but cannot get past where it says " checking configuration files for slapd". other sevices like webmin would have successfully started...how can i resolve this problem?

A "hard shutdown" such as this can cause filesystem corruption.
I have had cases with Fedora where it hangs up during booting/startup. After restarting one or more times, it eventually worked. Never found the cause---switched to Debian-based systems (Ubuntu, Mepis) and never had this kind of issue again.
