Blue Screen of Death?!?Help

Well just like in windows ive got the blue screen of death and i dont know whats wrong. I have a computer that seems just fine and i installed Mandrake and everything went well untill i rebooted and a black screen wth the word Grub on it, so i control-alt-deleted and put in a floppy and i got a screen asking me to run Linux, Floppy, or Failsafe so i choose Linux and it looks like its loading right but then i get to the end where i should be able to log in as my user name but instead i have a solid blue screen. if u need any more info just ask.

That's not a BSOD. That sounds more like a problem with your x server configuration. If you can figure out how to make it boot to the command prompt without automatically starting X, you might be able to run xconfigurator of XF86Config and get it straightened out.

Did you make any modifications to your partition table ?

To fix all these problems, you will have to use your Mandrake CD in order to boot in Rescue Mode.

Quote:
a black screen with the word Grub on it
This means that GRUB is not able to find its configuration file.
It is usually /boot/grub/grub.conf

By default, your system is suppose to boot in Graphical mode, correct ?
If yes, then like Jeff Foster mentioned, your X server is no longer configured correctly.
You can fix it by using the xf86config command or by editing the /etc/X11/XF86Config file.
