blue proximity and xscreensaver

I am just curious if anyone has gotten these 2 to work together without any really bothersome issues.

I am running Fedora 20 with mate and can get blueproximity to start the screensaver but i can only disable it with blueproximity if I don't run a password. to me that is an issue as I must lock my screen so just curious if anyone has solved this conundrum

edit fyi
i use xscreensaver-command -l to lock and
xscreensaver-command -deactivate

to deactivate which only brings up the password entry box if I have a password set
