/bin/sh, execvp and make
OK, Thanks to the people who told me where execvp should be:
I now have this problem that I am trying to run make on a program I have downloaded from the writer (it's a physics program I need for work, but the details are boring!). Anyway, we have a choice of Unix or Linux, so obviously I am using Linux (partly becuase Unix refuses to make anything, without telling me the sys files are wrong!).
The point is:
When I run make on Linux, I get an error message which tells me execvp cannot be found. I have tried changing to /bin/sh and then executing execvp, but it still tells me the command is not known. The man page has /bin/sh as the file for execvp, as people who replied to my last post told me, but the computer has never heard of it! We run Red Hat 8, if that helps anyone!
Thanks,
Rachel.
