Best install scenario

I have dual booted various distros before with windows on the same drive. If for some reason i wanted to remove linux, I always ended up not being able to boot windows again.

I would like to put another distro in use but am looking for some advice from experienced users on the optimal setup to dual boot here..

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

that's an issue with the bootloader, most distributions will need you to reinstall the windows bootloader after removing the linux partition/files.

I think the problem was in removing the lilo or grub loader so the windows could take over because i tried every concievable way to rewrite that windows loader but still no go. Is there some certain way to remove those linux bootloaders first ?

I usually use a win98 cd to boot me to the c:\ prompt then I simply type
c:\fdisk /mbr then I hit enter.. after that windows boots with no problems.. I have not tried that with winXP.
