Best distribution for a ...


hi

my brother have an old P2 300mhz with 64Mb
i would like to install a distribution for it child can play little game...

what is the best distribution for this computer... (we can upgrade the ram)

i would like something easy to install, i would like to be able to run kde apps

thanks

On that processor, KDE is going to run -very- slowly, even with a RAM upgrade. There are many alternatives to KDE, such as Fluxbox or Blackbox, that would run much smoother.

That said, I love Slackware because it is very small, very fast, and I've never had a problem with it. You can also check out "ZipSlack" for a smaller, even tighter installation.

it's no so important if i don't run kde for the desktop manager... but can i use little kde game like kmine, knight... and kde education program?

Take a look at DSL (Damn Small Linux), it runs good on slower computers. It is a live cd, but can be installed to the hard drive easily.
