bad sector in HDD ???

Hello,

I have got Bad sector in my hdd.i have face very secrious problem.

I have setup Win98 on c: with 5 GB and 7.5 GB with RHL7.3 and 7.5 with RHL8.0.

i have seen bad sector when my system boot in win98,when it's it start Scandisk (in win98)and it show bad sector.so

can any help how to remove bad sector from HDD.

or is their good tools for that.

Plz help me............

Make a complete backup of that drive and order a new one. It is probably in the first stages of failure.

Scandisk is supposed to mark them and not use the bad sectors.

what is the total size of your hard drive? Look like a 30 GB, isn't true? It might be still under warranty, older HD was having 3 yearrs warrinty most of time.
If it's a Maxtor drive, they will send you a bigger one, they rock
