Backup/file busy question

Hi,

I run a nightly backup on my CentOS 4.2 server and a lot of files are not backed up because they are busy.

Are the files under /sys/bus/pci/drivers, /sys/class/scsi_host, /sys/devices/pci0000:00 important?

I will simpley removes them from the backup if they are not.

Thanks!

You don't need to backup /sys, /dev, or /proc

They are necessary for a running system, so you can't just go to a root prompt and start deleting them expecting your system to keep going, but you don't back them up.

Thanks a lot!

I will modify my backup job.
