ATI Radeon and linux

I am just wondering what the people running linux using a ATI Radeon card are getting fps wise

FPS wise in what? I get ~1300 in glxgears with the new xorg 6.8 drivers with my 8500LE.

I get ~1800 in glxgears with 10.1, running the *Mesa* driver for my 9000Pro.

around 600 fps in glxgears running 9200SE with the open source drivers ... the ones ATI says should work for the card don't work, i spent a day trying to get it working, only to get the open source ones working with 1 run of xorgconfig, after a reinstall of X and the kernel (just to be safe)

tho, i think mine is pathetically low .... but that doesn't really mater, glxgears isn't very accurate, it does depend on things like screen resolution (1280x1024x24), and weather or not its minimized, how big it is, etc ....

I get 2158 FPS on glxgears and about 375 FPS with fgl_glxgears, with a Radeon 8500 LE 64MB card at 1024 24bit res.
