Amazon Web Services (AWS) and LInux

Is it just me but I have major difficulties in using AWS with Linux.

I know that there several very handy programs available for the MAC and for Windows which can be used to upload and download files to AWS.

But to my frustration, almost none for Linux. I don't get it. This is the place where Linux should shine.

I get AWS Cli to work but uploading a bigger file (by dividing it into smaller parts) is giving me major problems. With Windows and MAC it seems you don't need sweat to make it happen.

What are your experiences and thoughts on this?

First and foremost, http://aws.amazon.com/documentation/ and some freaking details.

You'll have to be a bt more explicit about "uploading" since AWS has like a few dozen products and services that allow "uploading".

Indeed, it is all there in the documentation. For example, the multipart upload of files in this document:

http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/...jusingmpu.html

This document got me to believe that I had to use either Java or Ruby or .NET for multipart upload. That was totally incomprehensible to me.

Then it dawned to me that I could do it with the command line interface and indeed, it was there in the documentation:
http://docs.aws.amazon.com/cli/lates...rt-upload.html
and http://docs.aws.amazon.com/cli/lates...part-part.html

That is if you want to upload something to AWS Glacier. Compare this to a tool like Fastglacier: https://fastglacier.com/

My mouth dropped seeing that. That looks like Filezilla. Unfortunately, I don't have Windows installed.

c-line s3 tools that copy always drove me nuts.
It never made sense to me, and I absolutely hate writing to s3
rsync seems the most reliable.
I have never messed with glacier.

Don't need Windows for Filezilla.
Code:
FileZilla 3.7.3, compiled on 2013-09-14
