G'Day there,I am having trouble finding a post anywhere at all where I can find some proper info on how to add a new user using terminal and the proper commands to use , as 4 some reason I added a user through Kuser and it doesnt seem to recognise it when trying to login , I tried the term adduser on its own and just get messages that dont seem to lead anywhere, I,m using gentoo and I tried searching through their forums and tips etc & couldn't find a answer believe it or not, I might not of been using the right search terms but I tried a few , AnyWay does anyone know the proper commands for adding a new user through terminal or console with linux, I had actually did it once before a very long time ago but have now forgotten,I am hoping its the same for all linux apps but could be wrong? Thanks
Just replace "username" whit the wanted name and add all the groups the the user should be in after the, what to write after the -g is dependent on your distribution.
Thanks very much ,that was preety much what I was looking for, & thanks 4 reminding me to look into the man pages before I post as well as have found in the past that alot of answers we need are right on our desktop in different places ,Fanx again,Much Appreciated
