A graphics for older machine

Hello everyone

I am using lubuntu 16,04. I'd like to purchase a graphics card to improve video and speed up web browsing performance. Currently I use integrated graphics VGA.

I need a card with passive cooling system and low power consumption. Will GT 710 (19Watt) work fine on linux or I should purchase sth else? What do you think of my choice?

Specs: MB: G31M-ES2L; CPU: E2220 @ 2.40GHz; RAM: 2GB.

Thx

Not a bad choice. Better than integrated graphics, at least. I don't know how much of a difference it will make at those specs, but I see no reason it wouldn't work on Linux. There are drivers for it.

GPU selection is tricky. You can improve an old computer with a new GPU, but you can't magically make the computer brand-new, so have realistic expectations. But assuming you're getting a good price on it, I don't foresee a problem.
