Cool 2gb USB drive, now for linux...

Just got a 2gb USB "thumb" drive w00t.

Wondering about partitioning and installing linux, was looking at DSL etc. when it dorned on me, why use a 128mb version when i could have a gig for linux and still have another gig for portable openoffice, firefox etc. and all my work?

Any ideas on a good distro for this? Doesn't have to be small, maybe a live cd version? Wow, the possibilities!

Another idea is to use live-cd distro and use Usb drive to save settings/config and files or to use as home partition.2G is not enough for full install for major distros. Check Distro of interest's installer web page for how to prepare your usb drive for linux install. Debian Sarge Installer,Mepis-lite Installer,PClos,Slax and so forth are popular choices. Good luck.
