Because many developers have not offered linux variants of their games. Many people just don't want to go through all the tweaks required for wine, and cedega (or pay the $5 a month extra for games they've already paid for. Yes you can get the CVS version but it doesn't offer everything the paid version does.)

This is why I keep a stripped down/non-networked version of xp.

This is one area were linux can't compete, but that's not the fault of linux. It is the fault of the companies who refuse to develop for linux. I'll tell you this I would gladly pay for linux version games.

COD2 & Path of Neo here I come.

Peace V

I use Cedega to play Counter-Strike (old skool, Source is for wimps!) and it works fine. Check out the Transgaming Games Database to see if your games are compatible or not

Yeah, it was stated before, that winex (cedega) isn't free. You can try vm software like vmware. I think it's free for 30 days, but you'll have to buy it after that. but it is something you can try also.

dude. keep that sh*t off the board. you can do whatever you want, but don't go advertising that warez stuff here. I'm sure it's not something this board condones or would like to be made to appear to condone.

To clear a misconception here... Cedega does not cost $5 per month... The $5 per month charge is for a downloading subscription. When you are happy that the games you want to run are running fine in Linux,... you don't have to continue to pay the subsciption fee. You will just no longer be able to download the latest version. If you want the latest version... you have to sign up again... I haven't had an active subsciption in about a year and a half,... and my older version of Cedega works just fine...
