UT2k3 problem

ok my problem is, that while im in ut2k3, the linux demo, haven;t got the money yet to buy it, it sometimes crash's for no reason, or freezes for a second and then comes back all pixilated and shit, and also, it seems slow, it skips when i got lopster, winmx, and GAIM running, i have exit out of all 3 before it seems right, at first i thought it was my video card, but i just bout it, could it be my computer instead? heres the specs:

amd duron 1.1 - 133 BS
512 sdram -133
seagate 80gb HDD
maxtor 40gb HDD
nv GF fx 5600

if it was the hardware io wouldn;t think it would be the cd roms cause its not running off a cd, im thinking its my old ass mother baord and ram? maybe just a program error? and what about the crashs?

It is the demo. I have never heard of anyone NOT having the demo of ut2003 doing this to them. The full game fixes all these problems. As for having programs running in the background, it is perfectly normal and understandable that a CPU and GPU intensive game such as ut2003 doesn't work well. Just turn off all programs. Who the bloody heck wants to chat when they are playing a game anyway? (No insult intended).

Just wait until you have enough money to buy the full game, I am almost 100% sure that it will fix all your problems.
