UT2004 Linux/Windows Multiplayer Compatibility

I've got a question concerned with UT2004 demo Multiplayer. Is it possible to connect to a XP LAN server if running the demo off of a linux box? I usually play with the guys on my floor in XP, but i recently installed the linux demo and if a friend (running XP) starts up a server, i can't even see it on the LAN. Or can linux ppl only play against ppl running linux? Can't say that makes alot of sense. Is there any way to get around this problem?

Yes, you should be able to play on any server. You might want to make sure you are both running the latest version of the demo.

I don't think there are more than one version out. But you should be able to play no matter what OS the other person using. Make sure you both have setup your network properly. You might want to try pinging your friend to make sure you have the connection with them.
