Tweaking World of Warcraft

I play World of Warcraft in Linux, with wine, but I've got a question. The game works fine, it's perfectly playable, but I don't think it's running as smooth as it could. The game has a noticable framerate drop when compared to playing in Windows, even though I launch it with OpenGL, which I have found to run faster than DirectX. Even if I turn the graphics all the way down (they're all the way up in Windows) it still does not play as smooth as I think it could. Are there any wine addons or extensions that I could install to optimize my Linux gaming experience?

Edit: And it's not that my system runs slower in Linux, because if I alt-tab out of WoW into another Window, my system runs as fast as ever even with WoW still running in the background, but it's inside the game that the slowdown is occurring, suggestions?

I have the same experience. I think there's nothing we can do to tweak it, but waiting for Wine or Cedega to release better layouts for running WoW as smooth as Windows (or whait to see if Blizzard releases a Linux binary, which I doubt it).

Same here ( no that i read your other post )

I am going to be testing some other distros and Window managers to see the effect on WoW.

Right now i Duel boot . kinda sucks.

But when i am Up against Nef in BWL i need it to run as smooth as it can, 40 main raids or the worst !!

I have 2 PCs that are the sam set up so I can compare then side by side. ( My wifes PC has Windows and her WoW account)

Some day we will have are cake and be able to eat it to
