Team Fortress 2 black screen but it's loaded with sounds?

I'm using Fedora 8 with the wine version 0.9.56, I do wine LauncherTF2.exe and it loads with sounds and I can even exit out of it without looking at the screen because it's all black. I've tried adding reg key videoramsize or whatever it's called with 512 but that didn't work, Tried windowed mode to see if it could be a resolution issue but that didn't work, disabled pixel shader for the heck of it and I thought that may have fixed it since I could see the screen but a second later it says it needs directx 8 or later I think so that probably has nothing to do with it. I'm at a loss lol.

in the launch options for TF2 and see if that fixes it. I have TF2 running perfectly.

Think I've tried that before as well and nothing seemed to work but I'm just going to get it going under windows xp as emulating things is to much pain. When people say things work under wine I have to laugh at them because I'm one of those people where you try 20 different options you find in google and nothing works.
