Stellaris seems to perform better on linux

I was astonished to find out this evening that stellaris actually seems to perform better on linux that it does on windows.

Im still getting fps in the thirties ( here is a pic of my rig https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....BL._SX355_.jpg) but im getting consistent frames in the thirties, which is something i cant say for playing in windows 7.

I dont know who to thank for this, the devs at paradox, nvidia, the new kernel im using (4.17.3) but this is the first i remember a game actually running clearly better on linux than on windows.

I actually noticed that with flightgear a while ago. On a 4gb ram linux mint laptop it ran, but pretty slow. On a Windows desktop with 8gb ram the performance was only slightly if any better, but took much longer to load the game.
