shodows in games

hi every one
i have been using liunx for awhile
and i became very comfortable with it but there is just a little problem with some games.
some games work slowly and behave like:
work one second and stop a second. and if i deactivate the shdows, it works fine, i don't know what the problem with shadows and shaders.
my card is : nVidia Corporation C73 [GeForce 7050 / nForce 610i]

For nVidia you can use open source video driver or proprietary closed source from nVidia. Which are you using? You can check it in "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" file.
