Quake 4 save games

Hey just a quick question about quake 4 in linux if anyone has had any experience with it. I just wanted to know where it kept all the saved games, because I didnt save my saved games when i reinstalled quake 4. I managed to find all the autosaves on the internet but I dont know where to put them to make them work in linux.

Can anyone tell me where quake keeps the saved games? and if this might work or not?

I know quake makes a folder in /home/username/.quake4/
but this didnt seem to hold any saved games previously.

thanks for any help in advance
