Platinum Arts Sandbox Game Maker won't run

I am having a problem getting this program to work. I never had this issue and I have been using this for a few years now. I am using Linux Mint 18.2, 64bit. When I click on the game it starts and brings me to the menu. But I can't go any further then that. No matter the resolution, fps, movie, etc, it wont start.

I ran it from Guake,

Code:
$ sandbox_unix --launcher
11:25:21: Debug: Adding duplicate image handler for 'PNG file'
11:25:21: Debug: Adding duplicate image handler for 'JPEG file'
11:25:21: Debug: Adding duplicate image handler for 'GIF file'
11:25:21: Debug: Adding duplicate image handler for 'XPM file'
That is all I get. Even when I try and run fps, rpg, etc, mode no more errors show. It just won't start beyond the main menu.

Edit: Oh well. Looks like this program is dead. The new replacement is horrible. Yet another mine craft clone. Seems that all the good programs, open source ones, are going the way of the dinosaur. Too bad.

Hi, pardon the delay on this, I just came across it.

I believe the problem you are having is because the maintainer (3rd party) is no longer maintaining the software.

You can still use it on Linux.

Download it from https://SandboxGameMaker.com
Open the main directory and execute sandbox_unix

I'm sorry to hear you aren't interested in my other Sandbox software I'm experimenting with. Sandbox will be getting updates, I'll just be gearing it more towards being a level editor. The other software I can gear towards being a complete game design learning tool. Hopefully I can do that with Sandbox someday too.

I wish you the best and I hope you have a blast using Sandbox.
