I install everything as to what the linux-gamers.net how-to's said but i get about 27% done w/ updating the steam platform and it dies. This what my console puts out from the beginning of the install to when it crashes

Have you patched your kernel, or are you useing kernel 2.6.xx?
On a sort-of-like-howto of cadega 4.1.0 (or was it 4.0.1? dunno, not on my box right now..)
cedega won't work well if you have either 2.6.xx or a patched kernel.

...Just a hunch though..
