Hello, everybody.
I have just installed lxdoom with the shareware doom1.wad file and the full version doom2.wad file. It's very cool except for the fact that it won't start as long as there's a /dev/dsp file. It gives me this:
Code:
LxDoom v1.4.4 (http://lxdoom.linuxgames.com/)
Z_Init : Allocated 6016Kb zone memory
found /usr/share/games/doom/doom1.wad
IWAD found: /usr/share/games/doom/doom1.wad

...and just freezes at that point. I have to hit CTRL-C to use the command line again. However, if I go into /dev and remove (or move) /dev/dsp, it loads just fine, but has no sound. I somehow had this working yesterday with sound and everything, after loading the snd-pcm-oss module, so I put it into /etc/modules, and now it's borked. Of course, I've tried removing it from /etc/modules, but now the dsp file is created regardless at bootup, and I get the results above.
I am using Ubuntu-Hoary (5.04).
I'll appreciate any help you can give me!
Thanks.
