Help with Civilization IV

I want to try and get Civ IV running in Wine. So I found this site that shows a way.

Unfortunately, I seem to be stuck on step 1. Copy the disks to my wine directory. I've tried the DD command, right clicking in Nautilus, and k3b. These are the original Civ IV disks.

I'm guessing it's some kind of copy protection on the disks. Any one know how I can copy them to the hard drive?

Thanks.

Some extra info (can't have too much info). The DD command I ran was....

dd if=/dev/sr0 of=/home/don/.wine/civ4disk1/disk1.iso bs=2048 conv=notrunc

and the results were....

dd: reading `/dev/sr0': Input/output error
824+0 records in
824+0 records out
1687552 bytes (1.7 MB) copied, 33.3644 s, 50.6 kB/s

Hi Fugazi, I'm the author of that post.

You don't need an ISO. All you have to do is copy and paste the files in each disk into a new folder.

There is an updated guide available (link is at the top of the older guide). In it you can ignore the part about "recent versions of Wine have broken support for Civ 4", the latest version work fine now.
