Hi, ErrantOne !
I think there might be a configuration/installation issue...... I've been reading a few boards about this and found out that there must be a package to be compiled with Winex before Winex are ready for installation. I'm not sure about this, but I think the binary package are the one with the .rpm ending (ex.; winex3-3.1.1.rpm) and then you need the source package which I'm not sure about what is...., but I seen a lot of talking about CVS package for the Winex, but as I said I may be far out of orbit with this theory..... so maybe someone who knows could tell us ? :-) I'm pretty helpless right now....

http://www.winehq.org/site/cvs I've heard that the CVS is pretty hard to install.....
Is Winex really that difficult to handle? or is it easier than we think :-)
One thing.... I installed the ordinary Wine for Mandrake (search the net and you'll find the right version to your system), and got it to work. Notepad and everythig.... :-) The Installation of CoD looked ok (for a while since I past the *.rtf error in Winex). The installation really took of. Then.... inserting disc 2, things wasn't right.... The program didn't recognize cd2 and the installation aborted..... :-( I later got information on why and how you could fix this.... It's a known problem for CoD in Wine/Winex.
And one thing is for sure: We need Winex. That one is best for gaming ! Wine is for applications and stuff..... (I think, hehe)
Here's some links were i got my information from:
