Bridge Game

I recently purchased the GIB bridge game, which works very well on Windows, but as yet I haven't managed to get it working on Linux. I mostly use Mint, but I've tried some other distributions (including older versions of Red Hat) with no success. I believe it can be made to operate if you use the right commands - so the question is..do you use GIB on Linux, and (if so) how do you do it?
Thanks, in anticipation......

The website indicates it should work on Linux - what does the install doco (if any) say, and what have you tried.

BTW - how good is it ?.

There doesn't seem to be much interest in this! The instructions simply say you can use Linux, and sure enough the disc does include a tar.gz file but I've failed to get it working - I've tried most of the major distros.
I would say it works well for Windows and is a good program, but if you only use Linux...forget it !

I do not know many bridge players that are computer geeks... Have you contacted GIB for help?
I have Bridge Baron but it would be nice if we had something for linux.

I presume you tried the normal config/make/make install (or whatever). No README ?. Makefile no help ?.

Maybe I should outlay some bucks and have a look - I need a decent (Bridge) game. I started to write one years ago (Delphi on 'doze) as I couldn't find one that did Precision - all got too hard so I dropped it.

+1
The README references Redhat 6 - ugh !!!. Installs o.k. (read untars), but when run goes looking for (very) old version of gtk. Haven't bothered chasing it down, but a quick search found this, which indicates the extent of the issues involved on Linux.
I'll have a look at the 'doze version whilst watching the footy Grand Final.
