which mailing list?

On at least two diffrent times, people replying to my threads here stated that I should join "the mailing list". Note the quotes. Read on.

Today I finally decided to look into that.

Well, the page at http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/mail.html revealed something that I did not expect: there are several mailing lists. Not one mailing list. Oh.

What I would be doing on a mailing list would be to (a) ask questions not answered here and (b) inform the team of errors or oddities in the book.

After reading the descriptions, I remain unclear as to which list would be best, though contenders would be lfs-support, lfs-book and lfs-dev. Oh, but wait, I am running a BLFS system; so blfs-support, blfs-book, blfs-dev? Oof. Dizzy.

For reasons of bandwidth and keeping things simple, I would only subscribe to *one* list. Which list should I subscribe to?

Thank you.

You want the two support mailing lists. One is for lfs and the other for blfs. It's a good idea to subscribe to both. Don't subscribe to the dev lists. They are for lfs developers only; you won't get any user help there. The book lists are also for developers but are angled to the production of the LFS manuals rather than the experimental development work.
