unable to change tty /dev/tty1 Read-only filesystem


Hi I installed lfs-5.0. I boot and log in, and recieve these messages.

VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly
Freeing unused kernel memory: 128k freed
INIT: version 2.85 booting
INIT: /etc/inittab[5]: sysvinit: unknown action field
INIT: Entering runlevel: 3
Starting system log daemon... [FAILED]
Starting kernel log daemon... [OK]

(none) login: root
Password:
unable to change tty /dev/tty1: Read-only filesystem
No mail.
-bash-2.05b#

what did i do wrong?

What does you /etc/fstab look like. It sound like your fstab has root mounted as read only.
